This is the terrestrial half of DAAS — Xeanaex's drone-as-a-service concept. It reuses the same 4-motor tank-tread chassis lineage as BattleBot and RaveBot, this time carrying a docking port and release mechanism for a companion aerial drone instead of a camera or a light show.
How It Works
The rover and the drone are controlled independently, each through its own web interface: one for ground driving and dock release, a second for flight that only activates once the rover has parked at the chosen spot. A remote user drives the rover into position, releases the drone, flies it, and calls it back down to dock before the rover returns.
Built for Safety
End users get a deliberately minimal set of flight controls — ascend, descend, hover, pan the camera, move, return to base — with no access to low-level flight-controller commands. Any situation the software doesn't explicitly handle defaults to returning the drone to base. An administrator retains a separate override channel to force a return or take manual control at any time.
Who It's For
The combo platform is aimed at land surveyors, aerial photographers, and drone hobbyists who want an easy, self-contained way to get a drone airborne at a remote site without hauling separate ground and air gear.
